The catch is that the unlucky bastard picked on by the manipulative woman doesnt actually cheat on his lady. In fact, he is set up by his would-be fiance in an attempt to test his fidelity...." Molly Celaschi, Horroryearbook.com

The story was unique, thrilling and suspenseful which made me all the more impressed when I found out that this was Roger Scheck's directorial debut. FORGIVING THE FRANKLINS is the hilarious and absurd tale of what happens to a conservative North Carolina family after the burden of Original Sin is lifted from them through Divine Intervention.

Before the fortunate catastrophe of a car crash changes them forever, The Franklins are passionless American stereotypes living unfulfilling but picture-perfect lives. Frank's a lawyer, Betty's a homemaker, Brian's a high school football hero, and Caroline's a cheerleader. Not a one of them is genuinely contented in the roles they play.

After the accident, Frank, Betty and Brian emerge from a collective coma, reborn into a life without shame. Much to the horror of Caroline, who escaped the coma, her family's repressed sexuality is unleashed and on display for anyone who'd care to look.

The community they live in doesn't quite appreciate The Franklin's new way of embracing life, which leads to a dramatic conclusion you'll never see coming.

If you're in the mood for a movie that constantly surprises, delights and leaves you thinking when it's over, hop in bed with The Franklins tonight. They'll be happy to teach you a few new tricks.
The Passion of the Mao
The Passion of the Mao
Our Price: $24.95

Who Know Communism Could be so Funny?

This madcap documentary re-examines the cultural revolution and restores the once bright reputation of Mao Zedong.

“The Passion of the Mao” begins by correcting misconceptions about Mao’s early years. Unlike the tryants with whom he is usually compared, Mao was a successful scholar and businessman before he became a rabble-rouser.

By the mid 1950s,he had unified China, spurred an impressive rate of growth, restructured the education system, and improved living standards.

Then he became a Maoist. Mao devoted the rest of his life to eliminating the centralized Soviet Bureacracy heand his colleagues had built.

The film takes viewers back to the 1960s. Successful women and men, some now professors at major universitites in the west, credit Mao and especially the Cultural Revolution for making them feminists and allowing them access to education.

During the Cultural Revolution, Mao brought Western-style ballets and operas, reinterpreted in Chinese form,to China’s Villagess. Peasants chose leaders who represented their true interest, and rural communities built schools independent of the central government.

And what about the anti-Maoist beliefs that have sullied the reputation of the man once referred to as ”The Sun in the Sky?”They are part of a vast radical conspiracy, the result of propaganda churned out by the same people who turned the tanks on the tiananmen demonstrators.
